How To Customize Your Benjamin Air Gun

The Benjamin Airguns community is known for its innovative air rifle mods. Each Benjamin air gun is designed to be personalized and grow to fit your hands. If you want to create a truly distinctive, one-of-a-kind Benjamin, it’s time to customize your own air rifle. Not only is it a fun and rewarding process, but you’ll end up with an air gun with a bold and unique personality — just like its owner.

Of course, every airgunner has their own preferences, so don’t feel limited by these ideas. Get inspired, but feel free to explore the path less traveled. If you have a specific vision in mind, make it happen. Get inspired by these air rifle mods, and then make them your own.

For over a century, Benjamin Airguns has crafted air guns out of hardwood and steel. Join our legacy, and build yours. Here are some of the most popular modification ideas to get you started.

1. Paint the Stock

The stock is an excellent starting point for someone looking to update the look of their Benjamin. We offer Benjamin air guns with beautiful Turkish wood stocks, as well as all-weather synthetic stocks. If you’re looking to change the appearance of your stock, you have plenty of options on the table.

Hydro dipping the stock is one of the best air rifle mods for those looking to achieve a camouflage pattern (or any other special pattern you can imagine). Wood stocks can also be stained if you want to maintain the original wood grain, or you can paint the wood. If you plan to paint a synthetic stock, epoxy-based primers and paints should do the job.

2. Change the Stock

Customizing your own air rifle is a great hobby, but you don’t have to do it all yourself. For example, Boyds makes some fantastic aftermarket hardwood stocks for Benjamin Marauders, and they come in a wide variety of colors and configurations. Colors include Forest Camo, Pepper Laminate, Nutmeg Laminate, and Black, and the company also offers custom wood, grips, pads, and tips, as well as adjustable combs.

3. Add an Aftermarket Air Gun Suppressor

Air guns are naturally quiet by design, but adding additional air gun sound suppression is a popular mod, especially among stealth hunters who demand silence from their tools. Some Benjamin air guns are already equipped with high-quality sound suppression, but you may be able to bring the volume down even further with aftermarket air rifle mods. Remember: it is your full responsibility to know the laws in your country, state, county, and city and to fully comply with them.

4. Add an Aftermarket Regulator

Aftermarket regulators may boost the performance of your air rifle by improving efficiency and shot-to-shot consistency. You can set the regulator to deliver a reliable, constant velocity so you can really hone in on your downrange precision. Additionally, you may be able to get a few more shots per fill.

It’s important to note that when you customize your own air rifle, disassembly will void any active warranty. This modification should only be performed by a trained professional. If you’re not 100% confident in your ability to perform any modification safely, outsource the work. Poorly implemented air rifle mods can be very dangerous, and you could cause irreversible damage to your air gun.

5. Change the Barrel

Many Benjamin enthusiasts upgrade their air guns with Lothar Walter barrels. In fact, we offer the upgrade in-house for our air rifles with Turkish wood stocks, so if you think you might upgrade later, we highly recommend simply ordering your Benjamin with a Lothar Walter barrel already equipped. Some members also commission special custom barrels from reputable community members — TJ’s Enterprises is a popular choice.
